The Gage County Sheriff’s Office says the victim of a crash Thursday night was fortunate. A member of the Wymore EMS heard the crash near her home and immediately called for help and went to render aid. However, the crash victim became agitated, refused help, and walked away.
The crash was reported at 9:55pm at South 51st and Sage Road in rural Gage County.
The man, identified as 55-year-old Bruce Goes of Wymore, walked into an open field away from the crash scene.
A ground and air search of the area was launched by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, the Wymore Police Department, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
After four hours of searching, Goes was never found. Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of Goes, they are encouraged to contact the Gage County Sheriff’s Office at (402) 223-5221.
The Gage County Sheriff’s Office says Goes lost control of his Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. He entered a ditch and rolled numerous times, landing on the driver’s side. Airbags did not deploy.
