Police have made an arrest in the shooting of a 6-year-old Omaha girl during her birthday party last week.

Twenty-six-year-old Eddie Poe III was booked for being an accessory to a felony in connection with the shooting of Taelor Fentress at a family friend's house at 41st and Ida last Thursday. Douglas County Jail records indicate Poe remains in custody pending $7,500 bail. Poe was also wanted on a bench warrant for not appearing at a court hearing on misdemeanor drug and driver's licensing charges.

Fentress was wounded by a stray bullet that went through a screen door and passed through her cheek and nose. Her mother tells WOWT 6 News she'll have to undergo more surgeries in the future to remove bullet fragments from her skin.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP.
