UPDATE: 43rd & Grant Shooting
Omaha Police say a shooting victim tells them that when he went outside to smoke some marijuana Wednesday night, he was shot.
Officers were dispatched to 43rd & Grant about 9:30pm. Initially, they were advised that numerous people reported hearing gunfire. Soon after, the call was upgraded to a shooting.
When they arrived, they found 19-year-old Lavonte Fleming wounded in the back seat of a car. He was transported to Creighton University Medical Center. Initial calls said he had been shot in an arm and back.
Police have no information about a possible suspect.
