Two students hope a fundraising campaign will help them shoot a film in the greater metro area.
Nick and Emily Royer are trying to raise $10,000 for their upcoming film, "AIR".
The movie will follow a "scuba diver [who] surfaces to a world with no breathable air and must fight to stay alive and get back to her family.”
The fundraising campaign is through crowd-funding website IndieGogo.
"This funding will enable us to take the film to the next level," said director Nick Royer, "by providing us access to locations, props, wardrobe, and equipment we wouldn't otherwise have access to."
The cast and crew are working on a pro bono basis.
"Our goal," said Royer, "is to create a film that showcases the talent and resources available to filmmakers in the Midwest."
The fundraising campaign will run through mid-May.
