The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has indefinitely suspended the Sigma Chi fraternity for violating terms of its probation for hazing and underage drinking in 2009.
The university announced the suspension on Friday after an investigation into an off-campus party with alcohol provided by fraternity members to minors.
University spokesman Juan Franco says the sanctions include a revocation of the fraternity's status as a university-approved housing unit.
Steve Davis of the Alpha Epsilon alumni advisory council for Sigma Chi says it was a "clear violation" and the council agrees with the sanctions.
The fraternity recently met university criteria to reopen its house following the 2009 investigation. In that case, police said frat members forced pledges to drink vodka and Tabasco sauce until they vomited.
