Lincoln police have arrested two men for allegedly trying to pawn stolen items. While interviewing the men, police learned that one of the suspects may have stolen items from a home where he had been staying as a guest the night before.
Police say 27-year-old Malachi Walker and 25-year-old Michael Weston tired to pawn more than $3,400 worth of items at The Game Room at 1713 O Street Saturday afternoon.
While they were being interviewed, someone called police to report a burglary at 2324 T Street. Police say Walker had been allowed to stay at that address Friday night. While the tenants were away, it’s alleged that Malachi stole flat screen televisions, a PS3 game system, DVD’s and digital cameras.
Walker was arrested for theft by unlawful taking. Weston was arrested for outstanding misdemeanor warrants, for having a suspended license, and for providing false information.
A 19-year-old woman was also questioned at the store, however she was released.
