When Lincoln police entered a home to investigate possible abuse over the weekend, they found a situation that might turn your stomach. Inside the house at 29th and Potter, they found roaches and insects crawling on the walls. The floors were covered with urine and feces. Trash and clutter filled other parts of the home.
And they found two families were living there. Police removed eight children from the home. They range in age from 2 to 15.
Three adults who were there were either arrested or cited for various crimes. Police released only one of their mug shots. Michael Kohlman, 45, was cited for child neglect and obstructing government operations. Police say he tried to hide three of the children from police and HHS workers.
Kohlman’s wife, 25-year old Charlotte Kohlman, and 47-year old Sherry Gilliam were cited and released for child neglect.
