Two Union Pacific Crew Members Killed In Arkansas Train Collision

Two Union Pacific train crew members were killed and two were injured when two freight trains collided Sunday morning in northeast Arkansas.

Union Pacific spokesman Brandon Morris said two cars caught fire, one carrying diesel and one carrying an alcoholic beverage, after the crash that was reported around 3 a.m. in Hoxie, Arkansas. The fire was out by about 10 a.m.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department said about 500 people were forced to leave their homes, but most were allowed to return by mid-morning.
