Two teenagers were busted by Omaha Police North Gang Suppression detectives Monday during a traffic stop in the area of 30th and Sorenson Parkway.
According to police reports, officers spotted a car, with no license plates, turn without using a signal. Officers reported a strong smell of alcohol when they approached the vehicle. Police report that detectives immediately secured the female driver and male passenger.
During a search of the car, police report a handgun was located under the passenger’s seat. Marijuana and a spilled can of beer were also found in the vehicle.
The 14-year-old male passenger was arrested for having a concealed and unregistered gun, unlawful transportation of the gun, and minor in possession of a handgun.
The driver, 18-year-old Adriana Goynes, was cited for possession of marijuana less than one ounce, turn signal violation, and no drivers license.
