Two people were injured in a fire near 39th and Spaulding Friday afternoon.
The fire was reported at approximately 4:30. Two people were transported to the hospital.
Neighbors say they believe the injured parties are a man in his 60s, who appeared to have been badly burned, and his son, in his 20s or 30s, injured while trying to help his father. He may have suffered smoke inhalation.
Neighbors helped at least one of the victims out of the house and fire crews arrived to find both victims in the front yard.
Investigators believe that the victims might have tried to extinguish the flames prior to the arrival of the fire department.
