Two for one shouldn't mean a bargain for criminals, but separate crews of thieves have pulled the same scam at a Sarpy County Walmart.
One suspect bought a $300 window air conditioner at the store off Interstate 80 and Highway 370. Then in the parking lot, he handed off the receipt to an accomplice who went in and grabbed another air conditioner.
“They'll stay in the store for a bit, then walk out with the other item unpaid for, hoping a store clerk won't stop them to check the receipt and if they do, if they glance down and see the same item, they're let go,” said Sarpy County Sheriff's Department detective Matt Barrall.
Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call Sarpy County Crime Stoppers at 592-STOP.
