Temperatures are slowly trying to warm up and recover after the record cold earlier this week.
This afternoon the Heartland had a chance to thaw out a little with highs in the 30s and 40s, some of the "mildest" weather since late February.
Temperatures still fell short of the average for this time of year, but at least not as cold as what it has been. More typical March temperatures should be near 24° for lows with highs near 45°.
If you like these warmer temperatures, then you'll love the forecast for the weekend as highs are expected to climb into the 50s on Sunday.
