The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will stock rainbow trout in several city ponds and lakes across the state this month.
The schedule includes stockings at Niobrara State Park on Wednesday, CenturyLink Lake at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park and Holdrege City Park on Thursday, Auburn Rotary Club Lake on Friday, and Barnett Park in McCook and Steinhart Park in Nebraska City on Saturday.
Trout fishing requires only a basic rod and reel, hook, worm and bobber. Small spinners and prepared baits also work well.
All anglers fishing in Nebraska, except residents under age 16, must have fishing licenses.
