The Iowa State Patrol says at least one officer has been shot during a chase following a bank robbery in northeast Iowa.
Sgt. Scott Bright says a trooper was shot in the upper right arm Tuesday in Maynard. The injury is not considered life-threatening.
The Maynard Saving Bank was robbed around noon on Tuesday. The suspects fled in a car.
Bright says the trooper was shot following a chase that ended near Frederika. He says the suspects jumped out of the car.
Authorities are searching the area, and a SWAT team has been called in. Nearby highways have been closed.
Dena Gray-Fisher, a spokeswoman for Iowa Department of Transportation, says a vehicle carrying commercial motor vehicle enforcement officers was shot during the pursuit but none of them were injured.
