A tribute Monday served as a salute to an Omaha woman who always had a goal of becoming a nurse.
Tricia Jameson tried for 10 years to be accepted into a nursing program. She was approved in 2005 but her mother tells us they received the acceptance letter the day after Tricia was deployed to Iraq in the Nebraska National Guard.
Staff Sergeant Tricia Jameson was killed in the explosion of a roadside bomb that July.
In an emotional presentation on Monday, a class at UNMC's College of Nursing gave Tricia Jameson's mother Pat an Honor and Remember flag.
The students, who recently learned of the nursing connections, held a bake-off to raise $700 to buy the special flags.
