A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Nemaha County in Nebraska until 5 p.m. and eastern Fremont, southeastern Mills, southern Montgomery and Page counties in Iowa until 5:15 p.m. Sunday.
A Cass County tree trimmer slipped and fell 20 feet into a ravine on Wednesday morning. With a dislocated shoulder, he was unable to get out himself, so rescue crews were called in to help.
The accident happened at Church Road and 108th Street eight miles southeast of Louisville, Nebraska around 10 a.m. The tree worker was using a chainsaw when he slipped and fell into the creek.
Plattsmouth rescue crews got the man out of the creek in about 30 minutes. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
