A massive tree fell in Ralston Saturday morning, causing minor damage to a car but narrowly missing two houses. No one was hurt.
It happened just after 7:30 a.m. Residents awoke to find the 90-foot tree in the middle of the road near 83rd and Oakwood streets. They said it was quite windy when the tree came crashing down, blocking the street.
"All of a sudden there was a huge thud and the house shook and I looked out my window and the roots from the tree were in our yard and our neighbor’s yard,” said Narcisa Givson-Martinez.
A city crew spent much of the morning trying to clear the tree.
