The City of Omaha's residential garbage and recycling collection contractor, Deffenbaugh Industries, says only 75% of Monday's collections could be completed.
Work Tuesday morning has resumed in the remaining Monday areas and will also begin in the regular Tuesday collections area.
Residents in the Tuesday collection area should have their garbage and recyclables set out at their normal collection location.
Some parts of the City are likely to experience collection delays Tuesday and Wednesday.
Residents can assist Deffenbaugh's personnel in these difficult working conditions by ensuring that materials set out for collection remain visible and accessible.
Missed collections should be reported to the City’s Solid Waste Hotline, 444-5238, after 7:00 PM on their normal collection day
