A man was arrested for threatening and trying to shoot a woman in Lincoln Saturday morning.
The victim told police she encountered the suspect she believed did not live in the apartment building at South 13th and E streets around 1:30 a.m. and asked him to leave. After a brief argument, the man allegedly pulled a gun, pointed it at the woman and pulled the trigger, but it didn't fire. A few people in the building grabbed the suspect and held him until officers arrived.
Police say the gun 23-year-old Atem Garang had was loaded. They say the transient was taken into custody for attempted second-degree murder, making terroristic threats and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
