The Nebraska State Patrol says the snowstorm was a contributing factor in a traffic fatality Wednesday afternoon. It was reported just before 4:30pm on Interstate 80 near the Giltner exit
Traffic investigators say 28-year-old Lindsay D. Schluntz of Kearney lost control of her 2005 Chevy Trailblazer while traveling eastbound. She crossed the median and struck a 2000 Saturn driven by 19-year-old Kristina Leigh Ann Allen of Callaway. Allen was killed. Schluntz was not injured.
Both women were wearing a seat belt.
The Nebraska State Patrol reminds motorists that when traveling in winter weather conditions to adjust their speed and never travel faster than conditions allow.
