They used to be the hottest thing in toys but when games became computerized they lost their zip.
But Hot Wheels cars are still around and part of a Toys for Tots Campaign at a local Hy Vee store.
The wall is made of 20,000 of the die-cast cars and is located at the 90th and Center Streets Hy Vee.
The store is asking customers if they would like to buy a Hot Wheels car for their Toys for Tots campaign.
Adam Johnson says, "One of the cool things about it is since the cars are only .49 it's a great way, an expensive way of making a kid smile, an easy donation."
Johnson says the store hopes the customers buy enough of the hot wheels cars for them to donate 3,000 of them to the toys for tots.
The 90th and Center location is the only Hy Vee participating the Hot Wheels campaign.
