A tip from a Channel 6 News viewer may be the key to identifying a man found burned in a Sarpy County field in September.
Sarpy County Sheriff's Department Capt. Monte Daganaar told Channel 6 News that a possible ID has been made on the victim, but the department is still waiting on a few details.
The man's body was discovered in a ditch near 231st Street and Highway 6 after crews were called to the area to put out a grass fire.
Sarpy County investigators now say it's possible that the crime took place in Omaha and the body was moved to Sarpy County and set on fire. Omaha police are involved in the case. Channel 6 News has been told a news conference will be held as soon as further details are ready to be released.
