A warning for cereal lovers and the nation's biggest lenders ramp up help to homeowners ahead of a looming deadline. Here's the Thursday Bloomberg After The Bell Report from the New York Stock Exchange.

The country's largest banks have stepped up efforts to provide relief to homeowners as part of the national mortgage settlement. The five banks are accelerating principal reductions to take advantage of extra credit they'll receive until the end of the month.

Banks gave more than $42 billion in relief, including mortgage modifications and refinancing through the end of last year.

Another setback for Boeing as United says it's removing the company's grounded Dreamliner from its flight schedule until June 5th. The Dreamliner was grounded last month after several flight problems. Boeing officials meet with regulators Friday to offer fixes to the plane's battery issues.

Stocks fell Thursday on a mix of corporate earnings reports.
