Meantime, discount online marketers Groupon and Living Social were sued by a patent owner claiming the companies infringed protected technology for mobile phone advertising.
Twitter unveiled a new service that lets advertisers reach users based on their interests. The new service will let marketers send promoted tweets and list promoted accounts to sets of users by choosing from more than 350 interest categories like science or personal finance.
Until now, advertisers could only use the promotions to reach members who already followed them or those with similar interests to those followers.
A 23-year study shows monkeys who were fed a severely low-calorie diet did not live longer than their normal diet peers. The research by the National Institute of Aging showed that although thin monkeys seemed healthier by some measures, calorie restriction did not change the cause of death or survival.
