Driver Killed In Crash, Two Hurt; Alcohol, Speed Blamed

A woman was killed and two others injured in a crash on Saddle Creek Road near Poppleton Avenue in Omaha Sunday morning. Police say speed and alcohol were factors in the collision.

Witnesses say a Cadillac Deville driven by 23-year-old Raysean Barber of Omaha was traveling southbound on Saddle Creek at a high rate of speed around 12:30 a.m. when it went onto the curb at Saddle Creek and Pierce, re-entered the roadway, crossed into northbound traffic and struck a Chevy Aveo.

The driver of the Aveo, 60-year-old Betty Warren of Omaha , was taken to Creighton University Medical Center where she died of her injuries.

Barber is in serious condition and is expected to survive. His passenger, 24-year-old Kody Koch of Omaha, was treated for minor injuries.
