Update: Triple-Shooting Victims Identified

A fight at the Force One Motorcycle Club in Omaha may have led to three people being shot nearby Saturday morning.

Police investigating a report of shots fired in the area of 24th and Manderson just before 4:30 a.m. found 31-year-old Richard Kirk, 29-year-old LaTasha Ellis and 31-year-old Tawana Carter, all of Omaha, outside of a home suffering from gunshot wounds.

Ellis and Carter were treated at the Nebraska Medical Center and released. Kirk's condition is not being released.

"Apparently there was some altercation out front, the owner closed the place down and people left," said Omaha Police Lt. David Sudlacek. "Then about an hour-and-a-half later, the shooting happened, so we're looking into whether it's related.

Police said someone opened fire into a group of people. “The first thing I thought about was fireworks, but it was too rapid and it was too loud.” Donn Jones woke up to multiple shots being fired. “I think it was six or seven shots going off and then later, like two seconds later, five more went off, so I know it was 11, 12, bare minimum 10 shots I heard.”

Residents said it was a drive-by shooting, retaliation for the fight at the club. “It’s alarming, it’s very alarming because I care about my neighborhood, I care about this community and it’s never good to hear gunshots going off anyway,” said Jones. “Guns don't solve anything, they just cause more problems.”

Jones wants the violence to stop and says it should start with guns. “I would like to see guns removed, just taken off the streets, the accessibility of them becoming limited.”

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Omaha Police Department at 402-444-7867.
