A driver with outstanding warrants led police on a pursuit, and it put three people in the hospital.

It happened just before 11 PM Tuesday night. Police said a green Cadillac was heading westbound on Interstate 80. An OPD K-9 unit began pursuit. Police later found out the car was stolen.

The driver, James Ellerbruch, exited on 42nd street and ignored a stop light as he headed southbound. The car collided with a minivan belonging to Heidi Haluza before going through a guardrail and eventually stopping when it hit the bridge.

Neither Ellerbruch nor his passenger, Sandra Harless, were wearing a seatbelt.

Ellerbruch sustained a broken hip while Harless had a broken leg. Both were taken to the Nebraska Medical Center for their injuries.

Haluza had minor cuts and bruises and was also transported to the Med Center.

Police said Ellerbruch was responsible for the crash for violating the stop light. He has two felony warrants for Theft By Unlawful Taking and Parole Violation. Charges are pending in the investigation.
