Omaha Police took three men into custody Monday morning to question them about a shooting that happened in south Omaha early Monday morning.
Officers were in the area of 30th and U, en route to conduct an operation, when they heard gunshots. They rushed to 30th and U and found one victim. He'd been beaten with a blunt object and is now recovering from critical injuries at the Nebraska Medical Center. Two people were taken into custody at that location.
Moments later, police found two gunshot victims, 20-year-olds Changouth Choul and Mamed Gal, three blocks away, near 32nd and V Streets. One of those victims suffered critical injuries, the others' injuries are serious. Both are recovering at the Nebraska Medical Center.
One more suspect was caught to the west of that crime scene.
Omaha police have not yet released any information about the suspects or the victim's identity in the assault at 30th and U.
