Thieves Leave Empty Handed; Point Gun at Customer

Omaha Police are hoping the public recognizes three robbers who demanded money from a Walgreens last week. The register was locked so they left empty handed but not before pointing a shotgun at a customer.

It happened on Friday, February 3, at the Walgreens at 71st & Cass.

The one-minute-and-20-seconds of surveillance tape shows three robbers enter the store and rush the cashier.

She was unable to open the register.

An armed suspect can be seen pointing the shotgun at the clerk and later at a bystander.

Surveillance video also shows a young child walking into the store during the attempted robbery.

As the robbers left along the side of the building -- the same way they entered -- one of them fired a shell into the air in what seemed to be a frightening reminder for those around to not call police.

If you recognize the armed robbers, call Omaha Police at 402-444-7867.
