Hundreds of cars have rolled into the CenturyLink Center for the weekend, all there for the 59th annual World of Wheels.
There are 300 cars on display. The owners are doing much more than just lining up cars and showing them off. They’re going all out with how they display their cars and their bikes.
General Manager Bob Millard said, “Some of these guys will have $10,000 in their displays. As you saw up front around these cars we give awards for displays. In this particular show we'll gave eight display awards and we pay them to display their cars because the way look at our business, these are our partners in our business. Without these nice cars displayed the way they are, we don’t have a car show.”
This is much more than a car show. Many of the cars are full of memories and family history.
Andy Leach, of Cal Automotive Creations, said, “Ron Cizek out of Bennington owns the car and it’s kind of a neat story. His dad bought it in 1957 and it was a father-son project all those years. And it just never accumulated to anything so back in 2010 I met Ron and we started on the car and he wanted to get it done for his dad just so his dad could see it done.”
