Omaha will be on display once again this Sunday. That's when Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos take the field with a shot at the Super Bowl.
The Broncos’ quarterback yelled out "Omaha!" more than 40 times as part of his snap counts in last weekend's game.
Even though he's used the city in his cadence for years, last weekend struck a chord on social media.
Both The NFL Network and ESPN came to town this week to interview Mayor Stothert about the publicity this has generated. One reporter asked if her she'd be willing to put up a statue of Peyton Manning at City Hall. Those stories will run on Sunday.
Meanwhile, The Chamber has a new pitch: a promotional video incorporating Manning’s audio.
We're told by the Chamber that the promotional spot has been picked up by some major news and sports outlets as well as shared on social media.
