The latest look at drought condtions from the US Drought Monitor shows little to no change across the heartland.
The entire state of Nebraska is still listed as abnormally dry or worse while the western half of Iowa is listed as abnormally dry. The eastern half of the state is near normal.
According to the National Weather Service in Valley, NE this was the 2nd driest July on record in Omaha. Officially Eppley Airfield had 0.44" of rain in the month of July which is 3.39" below average.
Also worth noting was the fact the July 2012 was the driest July on record.
