Here’s a little something to take the edge off your monochromatic winter blues.
It’s time for the annual St. Cecilia Cathedral flower festival.
Thirty designers from around the city are putting their mettle to the petals for the 29th edition of the event.
This year's festival is inspired by the islands and culture of the South Pacific. To infuse the event with some genuine inspiration, guests from Hawaii were invited to participate.
You could tell Alika Cullen was from out of town when he told us, “First off, this is what I think of the weather. It's freezing cold here. In Hawaii, we're used to the bright sunshine. For us, 70-degrees is cold."
The Cathedral Flower Festival is going on through the weekend. St. Cecilia is located at 40th and Burt and admission is free. The show is scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with evening hours from 7 to 9 and again on Sunday from 1 to 4.
