Beneficial rain pelted parts of Iowa and Nebraska earlier this week helping to ease the Heartland's stubborn drought.
However, as of September 10th, much of west central and southwestern Iowa remains under a moderate to severe drought. And according to the U.S. Drought Monitor released just today, eastern Nebraska is pretty much in the same plight.
Sadly, the worst drought conditions continue over western Nebraska where parts of the state are under an extreme to exceptional drought.
Dry conditions will prevail through Friday, but over the weekend, another storm system will promise to bring a few scattered showers and storms which would be a godsend for many farmers throughout the Midwest.
