The Heartland is recovering from the coldest blast since last February.
The morning low for Omaha plunged to a frigid 10° this morning, not cold enough for the record which was 1° set in 1911 but certainly chilly enough to send shivers down your spine.
This morning's readings were the coldest we have experienced since February 23, 2013 when overnight lows dipped into the low single digits.
This latest severe cold snap luckily will be short in duration as already Wednesday will feature afternoon highs back in the upper 40s and low 50s--- more typical of where they should be for this time of year.
