The Benson Girls Softball Team is excited about going to the state tournament.
Last Friday the team thought their season was at an end. Coach Robert Woodworth says "some of our seniors said their last thing to the rest of the team sitting down there and the I went through all our spiel how great a season we had and all the coaches and said that wednesday we had to turn in all our gear and then everything changed about five hours later"
That was when the coach got a call telling him that the Bunnies had cinched the wild card berth and were on the way to state.
This is the first time the Benson Girls Softball team has gone to the tournament and pitcher Kayla Guerrero is ready. Guerrero says " I just want it to come, I'm just ready. I'm ready to play all day, I can't focus on school, I don't know".
The team is as impressive off the field as on. They have a team grade point average of 3.55.
