The Saunders County Sheriff's Department is investigating what led up to a rollover crash that hurt two teenagers Wednesday evening.

It happened at county roads 26 and Z near North Bend, Nebraska just before 7:30 p.m. Investigators say the driver lost control of the vehicle as it went over a hill and tried to swerve back toward the middle of the road. The SUV went off the road and rolled over, ejecting the driver.

Seventeen-year-old Cassandra Wirka of Fremont was taken by medical helicopter to Alegent Creighton University Medical Center where she was listed in serious condition Thursday afternoon.

Her passenger, 15-year-old Camden Stephenson of Morse Bluffs, was taken to the Fremont Area Medical Center where he was treated and released.
