Family and friends gathered Sunday afternoon in Omaha to remember 15-year-old Tyler Hickerson. A friend said he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Friday playing a game of Russian roulette.
The friend said she told Hickerson to stop, but he pulled the trigger.
Loved ones lit candles and stood by each other at 31st and Paxton, near the home where the shooting took place around 3:45 p.m. Friday. Hickerson later died at the Nebraska Medical Center. Police have said they are not looking for a suspect in the shooting.
"I really do want to thank everybody for coming out and showing my brother love," said Tyler's sister. I want to thank all the pictures on Facebook. I just want to thank all you from the bottom of my heart. I just want to thank y’all because you don't know how that makes me and my mom and my family feel, that he had love out here at the age that he was."
