Aaron Danoff was sentenced to 10 to 14 years in prison on a charge of motor vehicle homicide for killing Jessica Lutton Bedient.
The crash happened last fall when Danoff ran a red light at 144th and Q streets in southwest Omaha.
It was an emotional scene inside the courtroom during the sentencing.
Jessica's husband to whom she had been married for only a matter of weeks, read an impact statement to the court. After the sentencing he was still in tears.
The convicted teenager was also overcome with emotion. He tried reading a statement to the court but was unable.
Danoff will be eligible for parole in 5 years. With time off for good behavior he must be released in 7 years.
