The 17-year-old charged with stabbing another student in the bathroom at Pius X waived her right to a jury trial and a speedy trial Thursday.
Sarah Piccolo is charged with assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Police say Piccolo attacked 17-year-old Ellen Kopetzky with a knife and hammer in a school restroom on October 7th. Piccolo didn't say anything before, during or after the assault. Piccolo fled and was arrested the next day in Yates Center, Kansas. She allegedly told witnesses and law enforcement that she planned on hurting others before killing herself.
In May, a judge ruled Piccolo was competent to stand trial. She is expected back in court on August 11.
