A 17-year-old boy was killed and his sister injured when a car smashed into their horse-drawn buggy east of Pawnee City, Nebraska Sunday morning.
Sheriff Jayme Reed says the crash happened around 9 a.m. on Highway 8/50. Reed says a 1992 Cadillac Deville driven by 56-year-old Vivian Cockrell of Pawnee City hit the back of the buggy.
Rueben Yoder died at the scene. His 20-year-old sister Fannie Yoder sustained head injuries and was taken to Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln where she is in critical condition.
Cockrell was treated at Pawnee Hospital and released.
