A teenager with a flashlight seen on the roof of a Lincoln elementary school Wednesday morning was later taken into custody on attempted burglary charges.
When officers approached him at Brownell Elementary School at North 60th Street and Aylesworth Avenue, the teen tried to run but was quickly apprehended.
Eighteen-year-old Alexander Thiel was in possession of of a screwdriver and had gloves with him. Police discovered fresh damage to the roof.
Thiel was jailed for attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools and failure to comply.
