A teenager was arrested on a number of charges after a chase through an Omaha neighborhood Friday morning.
Police saw a driver heading eastbound on Lake Street at a high rate of speed go through a red light at North 24th Street just after 1 a.m., then swerve into oncoming traffic, almost causing several accidents. Officers caught up to the car as the driver was getting out and he started running.
After a brief search of the area, the 17-year-old boy was located hiding on the porch of a home near Grace Street and Florence Boulevard. It turned out the car had been reported stolen earlier in the evening from 15th and Cuming.
The suspect, whose name is not being released because of his age, was booked for theft by receiving, willful reckless driving, obstruction and not having a driver's license.
