An Omaha teenager suffered a shotgun blast to the back of his head while pheasant hunting with his father Saturday in Page County, Iowa.
Eighteen-year-old Ryan Rearick was hit in the back of the head at short range from a shotgun being carried and accidentally fired by his father Christopher Rearick shortly before 10:30 a.m. east of Essex.
Ryan was first taken to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak before being airlifted to Alegent Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha where he was in stable condition and is expected to survive.
