Husker fans will likely never forget the sight of Jack Hoffman scoring a touchdown at the spring game in Memorial Stadium last year. It was the moment Team Jack was born and the team has made tremendous strides since then.
The V Entertainment Center, just south of Oak View Mall, hosted the first Team Jack Celebrity Bowl-A-Thon Monday night.
A crowd gathered to donate time and money to fund pediatric brain research.
The celebrities on hand included the Minnesota Twins’ Brian Duensing, Gator Bowl MVP Quincy Enunwa and Lindsey Moore of the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx.
Lindsey told us, “I just like to be a part of Team Jack just because it's a great cause and hits close to home; just because I went to Nebraska and played for Nebraska and here's a Nebraska fan with people that are involved and have a voice that's heard."
Eight-year-old Jack Hoffman has won an ESPY for Best Moment in Sports but what he and his family may be most proud of is just how successful the Team Jack Foundation has become.
Back in October we reported that Jack's cancer was in remission. On Monday night, everyone was celebrating that and the success of his foundation.
