A Johnston, Iowa Middle School teacher who mistakenly showed students brief scenes from the movie "Texas Chainsaw 3D" has been disciplined.
Laura Dillavou, a spokeswoman for the suburban Des Moines district, said Friday she couldn't name the teacher or describe the discipline because it was a personnel matter.
The district was alerted to the matter by Troy Gomez, the parent of an eighth-grader who was in the class when the teacher showed a few seconds of the movie trailer during a math lab. She turned off the video after a clip showed a woman in a bra.
Gomez wrote to Superintendent Clay Guthmiller, saying it was disturbing a teacher would show part of such a violent movie.
