Taxpayer dollars can be tracked by taxpayers in Douglas County.
Douglas County Clerk Tom Cavanaugh is publishing the listing of payments made with county taxpayer dollars to suppliers used by the county during the 2011 calendar year.
The listing can be found on the Clerk’s website. To access this information, simply click on the “Calendar Year Supplier Payments” button on the right side of the webpage.
“The Clerk’s office is dedicated to improving transparency and accountability on how Douglas County citizens’ tax dollars are being spent,” Cavanaugh said.
The County Clerk is also publishing on this website the 2011 fiscal year Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and the 2011 fiscal year Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR). The Clerk’s office has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for CAFR’s submitted each year since 2004. And once again it has received the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting from the GFOA.
Additional financial information found on the Clerk’s website includes Douglas County’s adopted budget, weekly payments approved by the Board of Commissioners, monthly departmental expense vs. budget reports, and information about SID’s, marriage licenses, and County Board records.
