Tax Levy For Communities Outside Omaha

City and Villages levy taxes for 2013-2014 fiscal year.

The tax rates approved by cities and villages, sanitary improvement districts, educational service units, natural resources districts, school districts and rural fire districts in Cass County were accepted and certified by the Cass County Board of Equalization last week.

The county collects the tax receipts and distributes the money to the various taxing districts.

Here are the city and village levies (general fund plus any bond or other funds rounded off to the nearest cent.) Tax rate is per $100 valuation. Those are followed by the 2012-13 levy in ( ) and the 2013-14 property valuation for each community in [ ].

-Plattsmouth: 53¢ (54¢) [$272.3 million]

-Louisville: 72¢ (71¢) [$54.4 million]

-South Bend: 17¢ (17¢) [$4.6 million]

-Greenwood: 49¢ (49¢) [$27 million]

-Murdock: 22¢ (23¢) [$12.7 million]

-Union: 46¢ (44¢) [$8.6 million]

-Avoca: 32¢ (32¢) [$6.6 million]

-Weeping Water: 45¢ (45¢) [$56 million]

-Elmwood: 40¢ (37¢) [$29.7 million]

-Eagle: 69¢ (69¢) [$45.9 million]

-Manley: 39¢ (38¢) [$6.7 million]

-Alvo: 61¢ (72¢) [$5.5 million]

-Nehawka: 38¢ (38¢) [$7.7 million]

-Murray: 45¢ (45¢) [$21.1 million]

-Cedar Creek: 13¢ (13¢) [$58.9 million]
