The flooding has left a track that is used to move coal from Lincoln to Kansas City, Missouri under water. A spokesman for BNSF Railway says workers tried to keep the track open by raising about three miles of track near Rulo, Nebraska. However, the track was flooded when a levee broke upstream.

Andy Williams says BNSF is rerouting coal trains that normally run from Lincoln to Kansas City through Colorado and western Kansas instead.
