A vacant house in Council Bluffs was destroyed by fire Sunday morning.
Neighbors believe someone broke in and started the fire near the corner of Pierce and Grace streets. One told WOWT 6 News she heard someone run from the house through her back yard and when she looked outside she saw a wall of flames.
“I called the fire department or 911 and then I called the owner," said Christy Weller. "When I was talking to her the flames continued to grow all the way up to the second floor. It just took off like crazy.”
Weller said neighbors have found evidence that someone has been breaking into the house, apparently to “party.”
